The Concept

Set in the 1500s (Tudor times) England; Medea is a woman of middle-class social standing married to a man of myth, a war hero famous for the capture and return of the golden fleece. Medea, having been brought back with Jason to England as a war prize, marries and has children with him. She is brought into the faith of the church of England, her previous beliefs void, her magic unmentionable, her old styles and jewelry hidden and burned, and turned into a perfect English wife. With the introduction of divorce into the church, Jason, a man of court always searching for a higher standing with the royalty, swiftly organizes a divorce from Medea and a marriage to the kings only daughter, Glauce, the princess of England. Medea's coffers are left empty, she wears a dress once brilliant, now muddy and mouldy as she walks through the fields of her estate, left wondering about the decisions that have led her here,
